Abraham John "Jack" Refsnider

HARBESON – Abraham John “Jack” Refsnider passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24, 2021 surrounded by family while Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” was playing softly. Born in Ambler, Pennsylvania to the late Clifford and Mary (Fox) Refsnider, Jack was the youngest and last surviving member of their ten children. Jack entered the US Army at age 19 in 1948, where he proudly served during the Korean War Era. Jack separated from service in 1957, began a career, and enjoyed a lifelong pursuit of education. He was employed by the Budd Company in Philadelphia for 27 years, retiring in 1991. He is survived by his family, whom he loved dearly, including his wife of 50 years, Eleanor (Downer) Refsnider; seven children, Mary Leslie Refsnider Thomas; Kimberly Refsnider Sherburne and partner Terry Person, Steven Wayne Refsnider and wife Terry, Andrew Michael Refsnider, Beverly Anne Banks Smith and husband Billie, David Scott Banks and wife Linda, and Eric John Refsnider and wife Beckie; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and gathering restrictions the family will be scheduling a memorial service at a later date.
