Albert F. Killen

January 11, 1930 — August 23, 2024

Albert F. Killen, 94, of Camden, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2024, with his family and special friend Mabel Glanden by his side.

Albert was born January 11, 1930, to Lester and Mina Killen. He was drafted into the Army in 1952 and served until 1954, earning a purple heart for wounds received from a mortar blast while on guard duty. He crossed the Chesapeake Bay on the ferry to report to duty and returned across the new Bay Bridge.

Albert loved playing music, hunting quail with his bird dogs, shooting sporting clays, and archery.

He married Beverly Utter in 1955. They were always together with friends and family enjoying life to the fullest. They would take a month-long trip every couple years to go see Bev’s family in Washington State. They were the greatest aunt and uncle a family could have.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00am in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St. Felton, DE 19943. The visitation will be held on the same day beginning at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
