Alexander ‘Paul’ Powalski Obituary

Alexander ‘Paul’ Powalski, 89 of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Paul was born February 7, 1933 to AP Powalski, Sr. and Wanda C. (Strazalkowski) in Wilmington, DE.

After graduation from Salesianum School, he joined the Navy. Paul served in the Korean War and the Navy Reserve as a Aircraft Engines Mechanic until his Honorable Discharge in December of 1959.

After retirement from DuPont, as a mechanical engineer, in 1991, Paul enjoyed travelling with his wife. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and baking pies.

In addition to his wife, Barbara J. (Kline) of 62 years, Alexander ‘Paul’ was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Wanda and Gabriel Gallo; and son Kenneth M. Powalski.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret Downey of Cherry Hill, NJ; son, Paul and Sharon Powalski of Millsboro, DE; daughter, Charlene and David Saienni of Landenburg, PA; daughter, Sheila Powalski and Ben Carlson of Newark, DE; daughter Lorraine and Brian Goodman of Bear, DE; eight grandchildren, Katie, Jessica, Paul Michael, Brandon, Matthew, Brett, Ryan and Bradley; and 17 great grandchildren.

All services are private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions should be made in Alexander ‘Paul’ Powalski’s name to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
