Alice M. Nauman

Alice Nauman, Beloved Mother On October 15, 2020, Alice Mattie Nauman, 93, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 5, 1927 in Beaverdale, PA to the late Michael and Anna Mattie. Alice, affectionately known as Gaggy, Grandmother, and Aunt Alice, was a science and math teacher in the Seaford School District. She taught many lessons to those who knew her both inside and outside of the classroom. Her kind heart and selfless nature were evident to everyone. She loved spending time with her family and friends playing pinochle or Mexican Train, reading, and watching the Phillies. She was very active in her church. Most important to Mrs. Nauman was her faith and her family. Mrs. Nauman was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer C. Nauman, Jr. and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Street (Fred) and Patricia Shaw (Dave), and her sons: Wilmer (Carolyn), Keith (Ivy), Mark (Joyce), John (Jenny), and David (Robin). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott and Brien (Brandy) Street, Claire Nauman, Jason (Becky) and Abby Nauman, Mark (Brandy), Colin (Maire), and Will Nauman, Kevin and Allison Shaw, Michael and Margo Nauman, and Elle and Anna Nauman. She is also survived by her ten great-grandchildren, her sister, Martha Benson (Paul), and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored. Services will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, Delaware on Thursday, October 22, 2020 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton, DE. The services will be private.
