Alvin M. Lorah, 74, of Lewes passed away on Saturday, August 28th, 2021. Alvin was born in Lewes to the late Alvin Oliver and Jean Maryann (Zelinsky) Lorah. Alvin was a professional painter by trade. He was also an Army Reserve Veteran. In his earlier years, Alvin did taxidermy. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Alvin was talented in woodcarving, which included ducks, owls, seabirds and hummingbirds. He enjoyed giving these to his family and friends. Most of all he liked spending time with his family at family gatherings. In addition to his parents, Alvin is preceded in death by his significant other, Flo; his brothers, Jack Lorah and Anthony Lorah; his sister Marianne Reynolds; and his nephew Carlton Savage. He is survived by his sister, Janet Savage; his nieces and nephews, Pamela Lord, Pamela VanSant, Denise Barnes, Cathy Savage, and David Lorah; his great nieces and nephews, Hillary Dennett, Carlton Savage, Jr., Taylor VanSant, Kate VanSant, Lindsay Barnes, and Elizabeth Barnes; as well as five great great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Epworth Cemetery, 187 Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, 19971.
