HARRINGTON – Alvin O. Jarrell, 82, passed away at home on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was born to the late Clarence and Ruth Floyd Jarrell in Felton on June 19, 1939. Alvin graduated from Harrington High School in 1957. He also graduated Wesley College in 1960. He was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church. Mr. Jarrell served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corp and the Navy. Alvin owned the Flag Stone Restaurant in Dover and Village Pizza at Rodney Village. He worked as a production mechanic for General Foods. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, pool, hunting and electronics and was a member of Milford Elks, Harrington Moose and Frederica Lions Club (Spring Creek). In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded by all of his siblings: brothers, Martin, Eldred, John, Lionel, Robert and Donald, and sisters, Bertha Ennis and Marilyn Ottinger. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, James (Jennifer) and Anne Marie (Luis); grandchildren, Morgan and CJ; step-children, Paula, Carrie, Lori and Michael (Brittany); and step-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Julianna, Jadyn, Zachary, Lillian, Elie, Levi and Connor. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 in the sanctuary of Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, DE 19963 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
