Alyson Bryan Yue Fisher

April 2, 1997 — May 13, 2021

AKA: Alycat, Alybear, and Peach LEWES—Aly was born in the Hunan province in China. She was a blessing from the time we received her first picture and it was love at first sight on the day we met! Such a happy, carefree baby, which pretty much summed up her outlook through her brief life. Aly began her earthly journey on April 2, 1997. She became our special angel on May 13, 2021. Aly moved from Philadelphia to Lewes with her moms when she was 3yrs old. Shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Despite her physical limitations, Aly embraced life in every way. She was born an old soul with the wisdom of Buddha. She loved unconditionally and was wicked smart with a great sense of humor (and timing). Aly was empathetic and compassionate, a huge advocate for social justice and a warrior for those with disabilities. Over the course of 8 years, Aly raised nearly $100,000 for the local MDA. With the help of her team “Aly’s Cats” she was the highest fundraiser for the local chapter 3 years in a row. She served as the MDA ambassador for both Delaware and the eastern shore of Maryland, assisting Lowes, Acme, Safeway, Jiffy Lube and Maryland firefighters to increase donations during annual fundraising events. Aly was also proud to have been the first goodwill ambassador for Tall Cedars Evergreen Forest 49 and Supreme Forest for 2013. Aly graduated from Cape Henlopen high school in 2015. She served on the journalism committee, contributing to the production of the yearbook all 4 years. She was also an active member of the Leo club-and could she sell mulch!!! She was a huge supporter of the local Buddy Walk and the Polar Bear Plunge. Aly went on to graduate with honors from Cabrini University in 2019, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and minors in both marketing and international business. At the time of her death she was employed by Stream Companies as a social media coordinator. Aly leaves to mourn her parents, Cecily Fisher and Loretta Higgins, her loving sister Emily Fisher, her sweet puppy Nelly, and her grandmother Connie Fisher. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends! Aly was predeceased by her grandparents, Pat and Ed Higgins, her godmother, Terri Hoban and her grandfather, Bill Fisher. When you met Aly, you were greeted with a smile that lit up a room. She was a positive influence on everyone she encountered. The wall hanging in her room states: “Choose Happy” and her latest blog entry (alyfisher.com) was titled “Have Courage”. Aly truly embodied positivity, life and love. If you have been touched by Aly in any way please pass her light along. Flowers are welcome or please make a donation thru Aly's MDA page https://mda.donordrive.com/campaign/Aly-Fisher- or by mail to the Muscular Dystrophy Association National Office, 161 N. Clark, Suite 3550, Chicago, IL 60601. Please be sure you write "Aly's Cats" on check or send a note. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Bethel U.M. Church, 129 W. 4th Street, Lewes, Del 19958. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm.
