Barbara L. "Bonnie" Hitchens

Milton—Barbara L. “Bonnie” Hitchens, 75, passed away on November 9, 2022 at Bay Health Hospital, Kent Campus, Dover, Delaware. She was born on December 1, 1946 to the late Clifford Legates and Doris (Chandler) Legates.

She graduated from Milton High School in the Class of 1964 and then from Salisbury State University in 1968. Barbara taught school and then later was employed by Comcast. She enjoyed flowers, collecting jewelry and barbie dolls.

Barbara survived by her sister Catherine Carey, her brother-in-law Donald Carey, niece, Emily Cash and nephew, Ethan Cash.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that contributions be made in her memory to Eagles Nest Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton, DE 19968

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE. Interment will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton, DE.
