Bessie A. "Betty" Brandt

MILFORD – Bessie A. Brandt, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. She was born on June 11, 1938, the oldest of four children, to Earl Hicks Brandt and Cora Marker Brandt. She was known as “Betty” to her family and friends.

Betty graduated from Milford High School, class of 1956. After graduation, she went to work at Arrow Safety in Georgetown. She worked there until retirement. After retiring, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, watching movies, and taking care of her cat named Shadow.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Brandt (1945), and John Brandt (2019), and brother-in-law, Raymond Lowe.

Betty is survived by her sister, Julia B. Lowe of Cambridge, MD, a sister-in-law, Jane M. Brandt of Broadkill Beach, her cousins, Karen Parker and Juliann Taylor, nieces, Sharon Lowe and Meggin Freed, and nephews, Michael Lowe, JB Brandt, and Robert Brandt.

A special thank you to Betty’s cousins Karen and Juliann, and sister-in-law Jane for all their help during Betty’s later years.

A private funeral and interment will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Noon.
