Robert Lee Lambden (Bob) passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 at his home in Georgetown with his loving wife Eleanor by his side. Bob was born July 18, 1931 on the family farm in Georgetown, DE. He was the son of the late Granville and Mabel Lambden. He loved his life growing up on the family farm in Cokesbury, where he lived his entire life. He would often speak about his wonderful memories, including the farm becoming a Delaware Century farm. Bob worked for the Department of Agriculture as a Grain Inspector for the State of Delaware for 30 years. During this time he made many lifelong friends who he still cherished as friends. How can you summarize someone's life in just a few words? Bob married the love of his life Eleanor Mears June 23, 1950. Bob and Eleanor lived in Cokesbury for 71 years in the house that was built from timber on the family farm. They enjoyed life to the fullest: antiquing, going to the beach, growing his beloved gladiolas, iris and dahlias and spending time with those whom he considered his family. Bob loved his family immensely, his beloved Cokesbury neighbors, and his many dear friends. He always had a smile, an opinion or friendly word. Bob had a deep Faith in his Lord and Savior, never faltering in his Savior's plan. He loved Wesley United Methodist Church and His community church at Cokesbury, Bob may not have sung in the church choir, but he could sing a gospel, bluegrass or classic country song like no other. Bob would want you to smile as you remember him. He would hope you would say, “That good old Bob". He would also tell you to cherish and love those you hold close just as he did for 90 years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Granville and Mabel Lambden and his brother William Lambden. He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor Lambden of 71 years; daughter Sue Ockels; son-in-law Burton Ockels; and granddaughter Ashley Ockels. He is survived by many nephews, nieces, and family Bob chose as his own. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 at Short Funeral Services, 609 E.
