Georgetown—Bonnie Mae West, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford, DE, surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie was born on October 2, 1944, in Milford, DE, to her parents, Martin and Ruth May (Taylor) Lecates.

She retired in 2008, as a Clerk in the Family Court after 25 years of service. She was an avid stock car race fan, but most of all she loved spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bonnie was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church, Georgetown, DE.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jerry West; two sons, Kevin and Kyle West; two brothers, Johnnie and Jimmy Lecates. She survived by her son Richard West (Nancy) of Georgetown, DE; grandchildren, Ashley West (fiancé, Zac), Sarah Farrow, Kevin West (Shana), Alan West (Shannon), Jefferey West (Logan); 10 great grandchildren; two brothers William Lecates (Chris), Darryl Lecates (Edith); many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE 19947 and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
