WOOLWICH, NJ - Carl Joseph Kushman’s life is based on a true story. Born on May 24, 1946 to Helen Barbara (nee Csarnogusky) and Joseph Carl Kushman in Newark, NJ, he lived 75 years until his Lord brought him Home on June 2, 2021. He was the first born generation in the U.S. of Czechoslovakia and Austrian decent. As a young man, he quickly committed to make Mary Louise (nee Riker), his wife and the love of his life, after a long walk on the Point Pleasant beach in 1968. It was only through death did they part after more than 52 years of marriage. Carl Joseph was a brilliant musician and engineer. The only thing he was more passionate about than fishing and swimming was anything that went fast. He enjoyed all things that flew in the air, had two or four wheels, and that could float. And they were considered even better, if powered by NOS. Husband, Daddy, Gramps and Confidant…he was the strongest of strong heads of any household. He held a space that cannot be replaced in the hearts and souls of Joseph Carl Kushman, his son and best friend; Jaime Louise Pula, his daughter and Angel; Robert Pula, his faithful son-in-law; as well as Max Vaughn and Vince Ivan, his beloved grandsons. LuLu, his devoted dog, and Chai, his loyal grand pup thank him greatly for all of the naps, snacks and belly rubs. Carl Joseph Kushman’s life is based on the true story of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Salvation ~ Amen. So many more loved ones, both passed and alive, rejoice in His Promise for Eternal Peace. Until we meet again and the next time you enjoy a chocolate - milk, shake or piece, do so in remembrance - with a big and bright smile, eyes included. Private services will be held at a later time.
