Caroletta Sue Thompson

Caroletta Sue Thompson, aged 76, entered into the arms of her Savior on December 5, 2024, in Hinton, WV. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has been joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband John. She was born to the late James P. and Mildred M. (Robinson) Davis in Pike County, KY on February 10, 1948.

She was a talented and creative woman, and found joy in crafting, especially sewing and painting. She also enjoyed reading a variety of genres. For many years, she and John raised chickens for Allen and Perdue on their farm in Laurel. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her wonderful holiday meals and baked goods.

In addition to her parents, Caroletta was predeceased by her husband, John Garry Thompson Sr.; her son John Garry Thompson Jr. and his wife, Mariann; and her siblings Mary and James.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Caprice Michelle (Thompson) Hitch and her husband Mark; her five siblings; her adored grandchildren, Brittney Thompson, Michael Thompson, Courtney Thompson, Kayla (Hitch) Simpson and her husband Daniel, Nicholas Hitch, and Veronika (Hitch) Blevins and her husband Jonah; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie Dawn and Elijah Michael.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St. Georgetown, DE 19947. A time of visitation will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Caroletta’s honor may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 16219 S. Sussex Highway, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
