Charles I. Stone (Stoney)

November 15, 1927 — October 6, 2024

Charles I. Stone (Stoney), of Lincoln, Delaware, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2024, in Milford, DE. Stoney was born on November 15, 1927, in Sugar Grove, VA. He was a kind and generous man throughout his life.


Stoney honorably served his country as a Corporal in the US Air Force and later channeled his experience into a fulfilling career at Boeing Vertol in Ridley Park, PA. He retired in 1986 as a planning engineer. Fishing was his passion, and he found joy and tranquility in the Delaware Bay and ponds that he knew so well.


His passing is mourned by his children, Barbara L. Kibler, Ivan M. Stone, and Mark R. Stone; daughters-in-law Tina Stone and Lynn Stone; along with his cherished six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Roger A. Stone of Baltimore, Maryland.


Stoney was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. and Beadie (Anderson) Stone; his wife, Margaret C. Stone; his daughter, Mary Jane Blankenbeckler; and his sons-in-law, Larry Kibler and Sidney Blankenbeckler.


Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriot’s Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
