Charles W. H. Steiner, Sr.

Charles W. H. Steiner, Sr., 76, of Lincoln passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Charles was a Trooper with the Delaware State Police followed by a career with ACME as a manager before retiring. He also served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed coaching Little League and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. and Evelyn T. (Gravenor) Steiner; his first wife, Janet (Walls) Steiner; his second wife, Linda (Valdesere) Steiner; and his sister, Mariann Morton. He is survived by his children, Charles W. H. Steiner, Jr. (Tina), Sean Steiner, Kelly-Jo Steiner, and Samantha-Jo Steiner; brother, Julius Steiner; 5 grandchildren, Heather Downes, Jessica Clarkson, Taylor Wheatley, Tia Wheatley, Geoffrey Steiner, Robert Kraft, and Gerald Kraft IV; and his great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 12 noon in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 11 am. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. As required by revised mandates during the pandemic, masks will be required for the health and safety of the family and those in attendance.
