Christine Hammond

Christine Hammond, 76, of Magnolia, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.

Christine was born in Caroline County, MD, on Christmas Day in 1946 to the late Earl and Elva Mae (Jester) Collins.

Christine was an avid reader, and loved to listen to classic country music. She worked in the construction industry, and loved her job as a painter.

In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded by her husband, Howard J. Hammond, Sr.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Beverly and Howard, Jr. and wife, Tracey; her sisters, Lorraine, Elaine, Rosie, and Leona; her grandchildren, Melissa (Jesse), Howard III, Amanda, and Katie; and 4 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 1:00 at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE. Online condolences may be sent at shortfuneralservicesandcremation.com.
