LINCOLN – Clara Ann Reynolds Hudson passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 82.
Clara Ann was born on September 21, 1942, in Cambridge, MD to the late John Emery Reynolds and Rhea Cornell Hering Reynolds.
As a child, she grew up in Cambridge, MD and moved to Lincoln, DE where she went to elementary school in Ellendale, DE and high school in Milton Consolidated school and graduated in the class of 1960, know as “The Best Class Ever”.
Clara Ann married Harry Truitt Hudson, Jr on April 13, 1964, and they were blessed with two sons.
Clara Ann worked for Sussex Company from 1960 – 1964. She and Harry, better known as Buddy Hudson, were hard workers and developed a business of raising chickens and helping with farming and masonry contractors.
Clara Ann was also a member of DE State Grange and American Legion Post 28. She also was State of DE Wildlife Enforcement “Auxiliary” Mom.
As a hobby, you could see her dancing to the music of Junior Wilson and his various musicians who she helped at their musical performances. Clara Ann was known as the band’s “Oldest Roadie”. She was also known for taking lots of family and friend’s photos.
Clara Ann is preceded in the death by her husband Buddy in 2002. She is survived by her sons, Harry T. Hudson III and his wife Carrie M. of Milford, DE, and Dale A. Hudson and his wife Kelly L. of Lincoln, DE. She was delighted to have precious grandchildren: Marian A. Galestokova and husband Gabriel, Lauren R. Hudson, Harry T. Hudson IV, Jessica E. Hudson and Jimmy A. Hudson.
Clara Ann will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a unique personality and a wonderful sense of humor. She was known for her honesty and frank comments on life around her.
There is a huge void left behind at her passing which was felt by her family, friends, classmates and the community. She will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life for Clara Ann will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, Del where a time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00am.
