Daniel "Danny" V. Simmons

Daniel “Danny” V. Simmons, 53, of Milford, passed away peacefully at his home with his devoted wife, his adoring niece Cora (Beth) that took care of him, and his dog, Barney by his side on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Danny was born at Lockborne Airforce Base, Ohio, to the late Ted W. and Judith Anne (Kitterman) Simmons on July 19,1968. Danny was a dedicated worker throughout his life. He worked for Century Engineering for over 32 years. He was involved in the Delaware Association of Surveyors for many years, and served as president for five years, and was named Surveyor of the Year. He was on the Delaware Board of Professional Land Surveyors, and was involved in the National Society of Professional Surveyors as their Delaware Representative. Danny was an active member of his community, and enjoyed attending local fundraisers. He was known to be a generous and kind person. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Milford. Danny will be greatly missed by his wife of 23 years, Violet Lee (Long) Simmons; his uncle, Mike Kitterman; his faithful K-9 companion, Barney; and thousands of friends he made through the years. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Milford, 6062 Old Shawnee Rd., Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will begin at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to: Delaware Association of Surveyors, 232 Landover Circle, Chapel Hill, NC 27516-8482.
