Daniel J. Unruh

GEORGETOWN – Daniel J. Unruh passed away due to Covid-19 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Daniel was born in Wilmington, DE to Robert Alan and Roberta (Crump) Unruh. Daniel graduated in 1992 from Wilmington Christian School in Hockessin, DE. He graduated in 1997 from Liberty University with a Bachelor Degree in Communications. After graduation, he made his career in the field of human resources and recruitment. He was a senior talent acquisition consultant most recently with Loureiro Engineering Associates Incorporated. He enjoyed anything outdoors, including: fishing, hunting, the Outer Banks. He especially loved walking his dogs and visiting dog parks. Dan was a member of Eagle Creek Church in Kansas City, MO. He loved video gaming with his son and daughter as well as playing card games with family and friends. Daniel was also a sports fan of anything Philadelphia. Daniel is preceded in death by a brother, James Alan Unruh. His father Alan passed away shortly after on February 4, 2021. He is survived by his children, Chase Braydon Unruh (11) and Paige Marie Unruh (9); his mother, Bobbie Unruh; Lisa Tilghman, the love of his life and best friend, and her daughter Amanda; and a sister, Deborah Unruh Miller and husband Paul, and their children, Elizabeth McCullough “Ella” Miller and Anderson Davis Miller. A combined celebration of life will be held for Daniel and Alan at 10:00am on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, 22860 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, Del 19947. Interment will follow at approximately 1:30pm at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, Del 19805. All attending any aspect of the service will be required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines set forth that the church must follow.
