David Keith Ashley passed away February 18,2024 at Delaware Hospice with his dear friend Snookie by his side. Dave was born April 24, 1963 in Raleigh North Carolina.
Dave was preceded in death by his father Dave Ashley, mother Carolyn White, sister Teresa (Terry) Foret. And leaves behind his brother Richard (Andrea) Ashley, his sister Laura (Richard) Orgeron and his Aunt Audrey. He was also predeceased by his Fiancée Wanda Brinton.
Dave joined the army in 1983. He was a medic and was stationed in Fort Miles Delaware where he served for four years. He loved Delaware so much, he never left. He loved fishing, boating, sunrises, sunsets, and spending time with his many friends…as the saying goes, he never met a stranger. I know we all can attest to that!
Dave enjoyed the Delaware waterways and fishing and was able to combine those two passions while selling Grady Whites for Taylor Marine. During his tenure, Taylor Marine became the number one dealership in the country. Before he worked at Taylor Marine he wrote articles and took photos for The Fisherman. Once Dave retired from Taylor Marine, he met up with Snookie and was able to help out at his shop. And Dave always found the time to volunteer on Veteran's Day at his friend's Mieneke Shop. He was always trying to give back!
Dave also leaves behind his pride and joy, Levi Back and his parents Michele and Jim Back. Also his beloved dog Daisy who did not leave his side for Dave’s entire journey.
Among his friends cherishing his memory are Snookie and his family, Sally, Dave and Judy, Tom and Jay, Dave and Jody and all his friends from high school South View’s Crew of ’82. And scores of others Dave has met through his lifetime. It has been a blessing having this man in our lives.
