Deborah Ann Hearn, 71, of Georgetown, DE., passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Delaware Bay Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Georgetown.
She was born at Seaford Hospital on June 28, 1953, the daughter of the late Leroy Jack Hearn and the late Josephine Marie (Elliott).
Debbie is survived by her brother Raymond Joseph (Patricia), nephew Anthony Joseph who she loved dearly, sister Linda J Warrington (Tim) of Arab, Alabama, a foster sister Vicky Fonke (Dan), and their sons Benjamin, Joseph, and Jon Fonke of North Carolina, and especially her best friend Goldie a 12 year old Goldendoodle who will miss her dearly.
Debbie was so blessed to have the care and support of her church family at Old Paths Church of Christ where she was a member since 1986 and was their treasurer for many years and was still a trustee.
Debbie was also a member of the Midland Grange for many years. She was a member of Anona Council #11 Pocahontas for over forty years. She was their lead treasurer as well as Treasurer of the State Pocahontas (Keeper of the Wampum).
Debbie was a livestock producer for many years. She was a swine and a poultry grower for most of her life. She was involved in her local 4-H Club and also with the Delaware State Fair. First as an exhibitor and later as a swine superintendent which she thoroughly enjoyed. Not missing a fair for forty years until her health issues prevented her from doing so.
The family would like to especially thank Becky and Homer Keene, Barbara, Dean, and Daisey for their friendship, care, and support for Debbie over the years. The family thanks you very much.

Her drivers at Dart Bus and a special thank you to the Georgetown, 93 EMS for all of their visits to the house. Mark Briggs and family for all their help and support at the farm.
Funeral services for Debbie will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 12:00pm at Short Funeral Services, Inc., 609 East Market Street, in Georgetown, with Pastor Homer Keene delivering the message and Pastor Frank Goehringer speaking on behalf of Old Paths Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Old Paths Church.
Anona Council #11 Pocahontas members will do a short service in honor of Debbie.
A visitation for Debbie will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home help defray her medical bills and expenses.
