Milton—Donald J. Passwaters, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in the care of Hospice at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE.

Donald was born in Milton to his parents Rufus and Rose (Forst) Passwaters. He was a lifelong resident of Sussex County. He worked at E.I. du Pont Company in Seaford as a machinist, where he retired in 1992. He enjoyed farming, growing pole beans, crabbing and fishing. Donald also served in the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Cox) Passwaters; his daughter, Lisa (Passwaters) Brown and his grandson, Joseph Hnosko.

He survived by his daughter, Leslee Hnosko (David Vickers); brother-in-law Ed Cox (Carol); his grandchildren, Justin White, Ryan Brown and great granddaughter, Kendall White.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, DE. A time of visitation for friends and family will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Burial will follow at the Milton Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton, DE.
