Donald Lee Webb

Donald L. Webb, 79, of Milton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 19, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Christine Thompson Webb of 8 years, daughters Sheila (Wayne) Donovan, Crystal (Steve) Johnson, stepchildren Eric (Kariane) McGinnis, Rebecca (Ron) Eisenacher, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sister Phyllis Donovan, sister-in-law Nancy Webb, many special nieces and nephews, and his recliner and food buddy, Chloe. He was preceded in death by his father James Webb, and mother Beatrice Marker Webb, sister E. Mae Adams, brother Gerald Webb, first wife Gloria Abbott Webb, and great grandson Ayden Eisenacher.

He worked at Cordrey Ford as a mechanic for 20 years. He retired as a heavy equipment operator after 25 years for the state of Delaware. He played in various bands over a 30 year period and still enjoyed playing guitar with family and friends. One of the highlights of his life was playing at the Grand Ole Opry in 1983. He was a life member of the Ellendale Fire company where he served the community for 63 years. He also served as Ellendale Police Commissioner and on the Ellendale Town Council.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Ellendale Fire Hall, 302 Main Street, Ellendale, DE. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00am. Interment with fireman’s honors will immediately follow at Ellendale Cemetery.
