Donnis Elaine Mazzucco

Donnis Elaine Mazzucco, Mother, Grandmother, Cousin, Aunt, Godmother, and Wife, who was well loved, passed away late morning, Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on March 11, 1944, in Newark, New Jersey, raised by her parents Andrew and Estelle Warnicki, she grew up and went to school in Irvington, New Jersey. She graduated from Irvington High School in 1961 and proceeded to get her college degree in Nursing, where she was an ICU and Cardiac nurse for over 40 years at Chilton Hospital. Donnis was married to William B. Mazzucco in 1965 when they moved to Towaco, New Jersey, where they had two children.

After over 50 years of marriage, William B. Mazzucco passed away in June of 2016. Donnis Mazzucco moved to Delaware, where she was a resident of Milford in Sussex County. She leaves behind her two children, Lisa Mazzucco and Keith Mazzucco, as well as two grandchildren, Cheyenne Mazzucco and Corey Mazzucco. She also leaves behind her goddaughter, Pam Franks.

There will be no service or wake for Donnis Mazzucco; rather the family will have a Celebration of Life for her, and a date will be announced later in the year. The family is also spreading their wishes of gratitude to the staff in the ICU of Bayhealth Sussex Campus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to God’s Way Thrift Store, 1 Maple Ave., Milford, DE 19963.

My grandmother was intelligent, kind, caring, giving, and gave everyone a big hug or smile. She was the one person in my life that was a beacon of inspiration and gave wonderful advice on anything that was happening. She will be missed dearly not only by me, but by everyone she has touched. At this time, we ask for the privacy of our family and to keep her in your hearts, where she will stay in mine. -Cheyenne
