Doris Wooters West

Doris W. West, from Milford, DE, was born in Lewes, DE on September 4, 1934, to William and Rhoda Wooters. She passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 90. She was a resident in Milford Place for almost one year and was under the care of hospice for the last few months. She had battled cancer for many years.

She was a homemaker, farmer's wife and mother to two daughters. She was a member of the Milford Church of God for approximately 70 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school Superintendent, and choir member, and held other positions. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going on picnics, playing games and attending church. She was also an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. West; her siblings William T. Wooters, Jr., Louise Wyatt, and her twin sister, Dorothy Clendaniel.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen W. Wilson (Bill) and Irene W. Calhoun (Donnie); three grandchildren, Jenny Attix, Denny Calhoun (Amy), and Nicholas Wilson (Sheree); six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Andy Stevens at the Milford Church of God on Wednesday, September 25th, at 500 North Walnut Street. The public viewing will begin at 10:00am. The service will begin at 11:00am.

The family is asking for donations to be made to the Milford Church of God in lieu of flowers if you would like to do so.
