Earl Thomas Rambo, age 91, of Milford, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on July 13, 2024. Born in Camden, NJ on May 6, 1933, he was the beloved son of the late Jacob Earl and Catherine (Milnamow) Rambo.
A graduate of Milford High School, Earl built a steady career working in maintenance at the Kent General Hospital in Dover, where he was known for his work ethic and amiable nature. He served in the Army National Guard for 13 years. Outside of work, he was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church.
Earl was a man who found pleasure in the simple things in life. He was the happiest when outdoors, whether cultivating his vegetable garden or firing up the grill to provide for his family Summers found him in his pool, where family and friends would gather for times of laughter and warmth. Earl’s fondness for the community, his joy in cooking, and love for his family's presence will be greatly missed but warmly remembered by all who were fortunate to have known him.
Earl lived a life marked by devotion to his family and a love for his community. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 71 years, Ruth E. (Mitchell) Rambo; his sons, David W. Rambo with his wife Tracy E. Niles, and Eric M. Rambo with his wife Jennifer Lynne Rambo; his granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Legg and her husband Shannon; his grandson, Derek Kyle Rambo and his wife Sydnee; and his adored great-grandchildren, Brielle, Bryson, Zach, who is engaged to Whitney Victory, Gavin and his wife Taylor; and his great-great granddaughter Sienna Mae.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Earl’s honor be made to the Dementia Society of America at https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate.
