Edward Mears

Edward Mears, 87, of Ellendale passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Willard and Mae E. (Myers) Mears. Edward was a plumber and owned Ed Mears Plumbing and Heating. He was also a constable in Pennsylvania for 18 years. He served in the Naval Reserve. He was a member of the Pilgrim’s Chapel. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Bernis Mears, children, Melissa Brown (Andy) of Milford and Jennifer Ariago (Mark) of Florida; 2 step-children, Susan Rios (Frankie) and Rhonda Kenlon (Bill) all of Pocomoke, MD; 8 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren and his beloved dog, Rags. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 am at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Downing Cemetery, in Oak Hall, VA.
