Eleanor Raye Warrington

Eleanor Raye Warrington, 89, of Georgetown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Eleanor was born in Georgetown to the late Courtland and Delia Workman. She retired from the State of Delaware after a career with DelDOT. She enjoyed shopping and bowling in leagues when she was younger. Eleanor was very active in the Georgetown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and served as the past President of the State Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Georgetown Historical Society and the Return Day Committee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Veasey Warrington; and her siblings, Rodney Workman, Louise Dorey, Irvin Workman, Alton Workman, and Horace Workman. Eleanor is survived by her sons, Michael (Kassie) Warrington, Russell ‘Rusty’ Warrington, and Alan Warrington and his companion Lisa Ruark; sister, Margie Short; grandchildren, Matthew (Angie) Warrington, and Megan Warrington; 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Harlee, and Lilly Warrington. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 1 pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friend may call after 12 noon.
