Elizabeth C. "Betty" Bennett

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Bennett, 79, of Marydel, formerly of Felton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Betty was born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 10, 1943, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Wright) Kennealy.

Betty moved to Delaware in 1978. She was a manager at Woolworth Restaurant in Dover for many years. She moved to Marydel in 2018. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Ken.

She will be greatly missed by her children, James Porreca (Jennifer), and Lisa Burris (William); her sister, Susan Johnson; 7 grandchildren, Alicia, Aaron, Brittany, William, Kaddie, Brian, Jason; and 14 great grandchildren, Cole, Noah, Wyatt, Joshua, Charlie, Taylor, Dallas, Bridget, Brian, Rebecca, Gigi, Kenslee, Lucy, and Liam.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 6:00 at Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St. Felton, DE 19943. A time of visitation will begin at 5:00. Interment is private.
