Ellen M. Donovan

Ellen M. Donovan peacefully departed from this world on September 9, 2024, in her hometown of Milford, DE. Ellen was born to the late William O. "Bill" Stokes Sr. and Eliza (Jones) Stokes on November 29, 1945.

She was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1963. Her professional journey saw her as a valued team member at Tanner Associates and Milford Pharmacy, where she made friends.

Ellen is survived by her children, Dawn Holman Davila (Tony) and Staci Donovan Marvel (Jimmy), and her grandchildren, Blake E. Holman and Leah Marvel. She was a sister to William O. "Bill" Stokes, Jr. (Beverly) and Edward M. "Marty" Stokes (Susan), who, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members, will miss her dearly. Ellen now joins in eternity her beloved husband, Jeffrey F. Donovan, her parents, and her granddaughter, Feather L. Marvel.

Ellen was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-stitching. Ellen found joy in the thrills of yard sales, the challenge of games, and the beauty of Fenton glassware and antiques. She was a collector of many things.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will begin the same day at 1:00pm. Interment is private.
