Ellis Neil Geise

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellis "Neil" Geise on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford, surrounded by his loved ones.

Neil was an Army Veteran serving in Viet Nam 1969-1971. Upon returning home he pursued his lifelong career with the Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Co., later Superfresh, where he worked as a produce clerk in Milford and then produce manager in Dover and Smyrna for 50 years. He also worked alongside his wife, Linda, in the floral business for 13 yrs. He loved antiques, refinishing furniture, old cars, and attending auctions. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ellis "Reds" Geise; stepmother, Marian Geise; mother, Grace Geise; and sister, Gail Ann Reynolds.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Geise; son, Michael "Dewane" Geise (Wife Brandi Geise); daughter, Melissa Geise-Hostedler (Husband, Colby Hostedler); grandson, Colby Lane Hostedler; and brother, Kenneth Geise.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 6:00pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St, Milford, DE. A time of visitation will begin at 5:00pm.
