Elouise Bennett Kenton

Elouise Bennett Kenton, 89, Milford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Elouise was born in Milford, DE, on April 19, 1934, to the late Lester and Reita Louise (Parker) Bennett.

Elouise was a long-time member of the Milford Church of God and attended services faithfully prior to her illness. She began her career working in the office at Playtex before choosing to become a stay-at-home parent. When her children were all attending school, she began working for the State of Delaware for the Milford School District. She enjoyed hosting and attending family dinners, baking cakes, going to the campground sitting around the bonfire talking, laughing, and singing, and going to the beach. She loved her cats throughout the years, and especially adored her cat companion, Grump, who sat by her side until the very end. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George N. Kenton, Sr., and her sister Ruth Aileen Aiken.

She will be greatly missed by her children G. Nelson Kenton, Jr. (Karen) of Ocala, FL, Rick Kenton (Kim) of Milford, DE, Marvin Kenton (Carmella) of Moses Lake, WA, and Rita Frost (Thad) of Milford DE; her 8 grandchildren Diana Conlon, Brandon Kenton, Lindsay Kenton, Tyler Kenton, Bethany Wybert, John Banks, Tim Frost, and Ryan Frost; her 3 great grandchildren Hayden Kenton, Gracie Kenton, and Briar Rose Wybert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 12:00pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation will be held on the same day from 11:00am-12:00pm. Interment will follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
