Ethel Evangeline "Van" Bradley

August 2, 1939 — February 20, 2021

Ethel Evangeline “Van” Bradley passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was born on August 2, 1939, in Smock, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Ray and Mary Elizabeth (Allamon) Campbell. Van was one of five siblings: sister, Dorothy Rhodes (Rev. Earnest Rhodes), brother, Allances Campbell (Pat), brother, Thomas Campbell (Joann), and her late sister, Carolyn Campbell. Van married the love of her life, David J. Bradley, Sr. on July 18, 1958 at the Church of the Nazarene on Maple Street in Milford. Together for 62 years, they settled in Milford, Delaware, and raised their family: daughter, Lisa Bradley Bruno (David), son, David Bradley, Jr. (Teresa), daughter, Janet Bradley Bowe (Lynnwood), son, Arthur Ray Bradley (Patricia), and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bradley. The joy of Van’s life was her family: the five children, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She loved beyond description and her heart knew no bounds with her gifts of loving and giving. In the words of a loved one, “We will miss your infectious smile, crazy antics, and genuine love and kindness that you gave us unconditionally”. Her home was a shelter to many in need, where she shared God’s gift of compassion. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, shopping, crafts, Bible studies, pets, hummingbirds, butterflies, roses, and chocolate. She lived her life by the Scripture in found 1 Corinthians 13. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963. A celebration of life will be held privately.
