Ethel H. Rockemann

Ethel H. Rockemann, 93, of Georgetown, passed away, Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home.

Ethel was born in Laurel, DE, the daughter of the late William and Stella (Mitchell) Hayman.

Ethel worked as a cafeteria worker for 30 years at Georgetown Elementary and Sussex Central High School.

Ethel was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Georgetown serving as a Trustee, Member of the Willing Strivers, and a member of the choir.  She volunteered for the town of Georgetown flower committee taking care of the town circle flowers; was a member of the American Legion ladies auxiliary and AARP.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; husband, Merle in 2006; and her son, Donald in 2011.

Ethel is survived by son, Richard (Sandy) Rockemann of Georgetown; daughter, Pamela Byus of Milton; and son Robert (Robin) Rockemann of Felton; several grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 12:00pm on Friday, November 10, 2023, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The burial will be in Union Cemetery Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Ethel Rockemann to the Grace United Church 7 S. King St. Georgetown, DE. 19947.
