Everett J. Cornwell, 55, of Bridgeville DE, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1966 to Margaret (Sharpe) and Everett F. Cornwell in Milford, Delaware. He graduated from Milford High School in the class of 1984. After graduation, Everett proudly joined the US Navy, being honorably discharged after a short service. Over the past 35 years, Everett found his career in retail having served the patrons and made life long friends at many stores including Save-A-Lot, Roses, Winner Ford, Rite Aid, Rent-A-Center, Shore Stop, Royal Farms, and most recently Walmart. Everett found joy in supporting live music, collecting guns, and building friendships that span the globe. In 2020, he co-founded and served as Executive Director of the Kidney Transplant Resources, Inc. foundation. He was an advocate for organ donation. He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Sharpe) Rust; three brothers, Ricky, William (Brandy), and Timothy (Marcy); five uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Memorial services are to be held at 10:30 am on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 Front Street, Milford DE. At 9:30 a.m. a time of visitation will begin. Interment will be at Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the funeral fund is appreciated or to his charity, Kidney Transplant Resources.
