Faye Kearney

GEORGETOWN – Faye Kearney passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Faye was born in Lewes, Delaware daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Massey) Taylor. Faye grew up in a large family of 9 that also includes a host of extended family.

Faye graduated from Sussex Tech’s cosmetology program and worked as a beautician most of her life in Georgetown and Millsboro where she was fondly known as “Little Faye”. She loved her career as a beautician and always enjoyed her time spent in the shop and at hair shows.

Faye was caring, loving and kind to everyone and was very close with her family. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed every minute spent with them, as well as time spent camping and traveling across the country for the past 20 years, hosting gatherings in her home, and cooking. She also loved her fur baby, Abby, and a good Tequila on the rocks.

She practiced the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Georgetown.

Faye is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rick; two children, Richard Kearney, Jr., and wife Jessica, Casey Elliott and husband Eric; four grandchildren, Sawyer Young, Emmalyn Kearney, Brycen Elliott and Saige Elliott.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, Del. Where a time of visitation will begin at 11:00am. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be held privately.
