Obituary for Frances Ann Beebe

Frederica—Frances Ann Beebe, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 13,

2024. Frances was born in Milford, DE on September 21, 1934, to her parents James

and Mary (Davis) Abbott.

She retired as a receptionist in 1994 from the Delaware State Housing Authority. Frances enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, reading, doing puzzles, bird watching and talking on the phone with her special friends. Frances inherited the task of making Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus outfits for her daughter, Donna and son-in-law, John Shoemaker, who played the part at many venues at Christmas for many years. Frances was an active member of the Frederica Trinity United Methodist Church. And she especially enjoyed spending time with her loving family where their house was always filled with laughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Frank Beebe; brother, James Abbott; niece Vonda Kay Abbott; son-in-law, John Shoemaker.

Frances was survived by her children, Craig Beebe (Eileen), Lynn Reynolds, and Donna Shoemaker; grandchildren, Ryan Beebe (Andrea), Craig Reynolds (Taylor); and great grandchildren, Tyler Beebe, Parker Beebe, Ethan Reynolds, and Adalynn Reynolds; and other extended family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Fletcher at Dover Family Physicians for his kind and compassionate care.

A time of visitation will be held at the Berry-Short Funeral Home chapel, 119 N.W. Front Street, Milford, DE, Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm for family and friends. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.
