Francis John Lewczak, 88, of Georgetown, DE, passed away September 23, 2023.
Frank was born on July 15, 1935, to John Stanley Lewczak and Catherine Lewczak of Baltimore, Maryland.
In 1968, Frank met Betty (the love of his life) in New York. They started a family and had two sons, Frankie, and Chris. During their adventures they called home many places; to include New York City, Groton, Connecticut, New Orleans, Louisiana, Chincoteague Island, Virgina, and finally Georgetown, Delaware. Frank was a defiant man who spoke his mind. He had an unwavering love for his family and the military, and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was most proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and spoke of them often.
Frank retired from the Coast Guard in 1983 after a successful career, and enrolled at Delaware Tech, where he earned an associate degree in Diesel Mechanics. Frank loved mechanics but seemed to enjoy it more as a hobby. He started working at Lowes and loved working with people helping with various home renovations and projects.
Frank loved traveling with Betty, especially enjoying the Caribbean, Florida, and the Carolinas. He also enjoyed reading western novels, watching TV, and trying to make people smile, usually with horrible jokes.
Frank was predeceased in death by his wife, Betty; his brother, Joseph Lewczak; and his parents.
His is survived by his sons, Frankie, (Angie), and Chris (Suzanne); grandchildren, Amanda, Alex, Angela, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Mila and Carter; nieces, Jennifer Leckie (Joe), Tracey Anne Brunet, and Lisa Eure-Elliot (Roger); nephews, David Squires, and Justin Lewczak (Tiffany); and special Sister-in-Law, Joan Lewczak.
