Gayle Ann Tandy

GEORGETOWN– Gayle Ann Tandy, age 68, was called home to God on May 12, 2021. Dayton, Ohio was Gayle's birthplace where she started a loving family with husband at the time, Ronnie Willard Turner. They soon moved to Indiana and raised their loving children Brian and Ginger. She bravely attended college and started her lifelong career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1986 and retired from Clarian/Methodist Hospital in 2007. For the past 10 years Delaware was her home where she was with her sister, Wanda Long; and shared the last 4 years with her companion John Edwards. Gayle was a loving and devoted mother and passionate nurse. She felt her calling in life was helping others. She would give or do anything for anyone, always putting others before herself. She had a love for laughter and was always a jokester who enjoyed making others laugh as well. She was spontaneous and adventurous. She enjoyed solitaire, bingo, puzzles and sewing. She loved relaxing outside being around nature and water where she felt it kept her closer to God. She enjoyed going to the beach, walking on the sand and sitting on the boardwalk. Her children were her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed. Gayle was also an active member of the CHEER Community Center of Delaware where she made many friends during her time there. She is preceded in death by parents, Lee Willis Tandy and Florence Louise (Bryant) Tandy of Dayton, OH; sister, Barbara Lee PaHud and her husband Mike of Monrovia, IN; and her beloved dog Ruby. Gayle is survived by her son, Brian Lee Turner(Toni) of IN; daughter, Ginger Louise Turner Lamb(Jamie) of IN; grandchildren Destiny Beck, Anthony Lamb, Carissa Lamb, Makayla Bear, Jonah Gershom, Jacob Steinbrook all of IN and Nicole Turner of FL; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Gary Tandy(Celia) of MO; sister, Wanda Long(Bob) of DE; nieces and nephews, Susan Buis(Mike) of IN, Michael PaHud(Holly) of IN, Laura Long of DE, Ben Tandy of MO, and Jennifer Pitt of FL; along with a host of extended family and friends. A visitation and funeral will be held for family and friends on Saturday, May 29, 2021from 11:00am-12:30pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, Del 19947. All attending will be asked to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
