Gene F. Roach, 90, of Georgetown passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. Gene was born in Georgetown, the son of the late James and Helen (King) Roach. He was employed at Delmarva Power and Light for 40+ years, initially as a lineman later transferring to the power plant working as an instrument technician. Gene was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of Grace U.M. Church and a life member of Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company. Gene enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and carving ducks. He was a loving husband, father, Pop Pop and Great Pop Pop. He was always wearing a smile, and was a true friend to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Fleetwood) Roach, daughter-in-law, Beverly Roach and brother, Jack Roach. He is survived by his children, Michael G. Roach and partner, Debra Beasley of Ocean View and Connie R. Warner and husband, Brendan of Dagsboro; grandchildren, Ryan Warner, Colin Warner, Erin Baker (James), Nicole Haymore (Josh), Teresa White (James) and Emily Roach (Caleb Strope); great grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Andrew, Jacob, Luke, Brieanna, Baylor and one on the way. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1:00 in the chapel of Grace U.M. Church, 7 S. King Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 11:00 am. Interment will be private. All attending must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Grace U.M. Church, 7 S.
