George William McGinnis, 64

GEORGETOWN – George W. McGinnis passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

George was a talented handyman and jack-of-all trades. He was an exquisite storyteller, enjoyed cooking, finding treasures at Wilsons Auction, and collecting duck decoys. He also loved all animals, especially his dogs Boone and Sadie.

He was born in Milford, Delaware, and was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Joan Fletcher.

George is survived by two children, Ashley Robinson and husband Trae, and Joshua Wade McGinnis; a granddaughter, Zoe' Robinson (whom he loved spoiling); three brothers, Steve Wilson and wife Kelly, Randy Fletcher, and Ernie Fletcher and wife Christine; one sister, Linda Robinson and husband Ron; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, Del 19968.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the funeral home to help defray the funeral expenses.
