Gerald Lee Carter, Sr., affectionately known as “Jerry”, 68, of Milton, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.
Jerry was born in Milford, DE, to his late mother Elizabeth Ann Murphy on July 21, 1955.
He worked as a dry-wall contractor, and his strong work ethic was admired by many. He attended Old Paths Church of Christ with his wife, Aimee. His dynamic personality and quick-witted sense of humor lit up every room he entered. He was a gifted speaker, never shy to engage in conversation or share a funny story with both friends and strangers. He was a compassionate man who offered good advice and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He was a proud member of the Phoenix Motorcycle Club- known there as Ghostrider- a testament to his love for Harley motorcycles. Jerry celebrated 35 years of sobriety and had hosted a weekly 12-step program in Ellendale for seven years. He was a proud Sussex Countian, an avid hunter and a loyal friend, often referring to everyone as "brother," "girl," or "man." Jerry's life was a testament to his love for his family, his passion for his work, and the connections he built over the years.
