Ellendale--Gloria Clark, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader, passed away on January 26, 2024, she was 84 years old.


Gloria was born on January 26, 1940, in Milford, Delaware to Charles and Grace Neibert. She grew up in a loving family and was proud of her roots. Gloria will be remembered by her loved ones as kind, generous, and funny, with a touch of sarcasm. She took pride in her accomplishments and made a lasting impact on those around her.


In her professional life, Gloria had a successful career dedicated to serving others. She worked as the director of senior volunteer programs for the State of Delaware, where she made a difference in the lives of many seniors in need. Gloria also made history as the first female mayor of the town of Ellendale, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations.


Outside of work, Gloria enjoyed various hobbies. She loved shopping, reading, and playing computer games. Her cherished moments were spent with granddaughter Hanna, and her beloved dog, Peanut. Gloria found joy in their company and treasured the time they spent together.


Gloria is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Hayden (Schrecengost) and her granddaughter Hanna Lynch (Webb), (Nicholas). She is also survived by her estranged daughter Lisa Rohlfing (Larry), grandchildren Jared and Kathrine, and estranged son Jay Roberts.


Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Clark Sr., her daughter Sherry Lynn Roberts, and her parents Charles and Grace Neibert.


In accordance with Gloria's wishes, there will be no funeral or celebration of life. A private burial will take place at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton, Delaware.
