Heike H. Cottrell

Heike Cottrell, 81 years old was born in Nürnberg, Germany on February 10, 1941. She passed away on Thursday July 7th after a sudden injury and complicating medical challenges. Heike Cottrell lived a life filled with love, strength, and purpose. At the age of 19 she moved to the USA from Germany and married the love of her life, Gerald Cottrell. Through 62 years together Heike was a devoted wife who was dedicated to her husband’s success. She did a wonderful job raising her son and daughter. Heike was a distinguished hairdresser, owning multiple salons and serving many over the years. For Heike her family came first, and she loved to spend time with them. Even to her last hour, she made sure her family knew how much she loved them. She was a gift to all who knew her. The memories she created with her family and her example of dedication and courage will last more than a lifetime. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Gerald Cottrell; her daughter, Dorrice Burns (Christopher Burns), son, Merchon Cottrell (Jane Cottrell); and grandchildren Cameron Burns, Meaghan Cottrell, and Nathan Cottrell; sister, Liese Bidwell; and twin brother, Jürgen Hodann. A memorial service will be held on August 8, 2022 with the viewing at 10:00 am and the funeral immediate following at 11:00AM at the Milford Church of God, 500 N. Walnut St., Milford, DE 19963.
