Helen Lorraine Donovan

Helen Lorraine Donovan, 81, passed away at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford, DE on Thursday, March 11, 2021. She was born to the late Walter and Roberta Collins Davis in Milford, DE on July 13, 1939. She was a member of Avenue United Methodist Church, helped at the Avenue Pre-School and attended Crossroad Community Church. She worked for Diamond State Telephone Company and Miss Utility. Helen was a devoted wife and mother to three daughters, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ernest E. Donovan; her daughters, Diana Schuler, Debra Rouse and Dina Cardella; grandchildren, Brittany Rouse, Jaimey Rouse, Karlyn Schuler, Jason Cardella and Megan Cardella; and great-grandchildren, D.J., Blaire and Thomas. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE. All in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
