Irene E. Gianesses

Irene E. Gianesses, 72, of Millsboro passed away peacefully at Beebe Healthcare on Friday, December 4, 2020. Irene was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Louis and Carmela (Ervolina) Mazzalonga. She attended St. Mary Mother of Peace in Millsboro. She retired from Mediacom and enjoyed reading, history, and collecting temptations. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gianesses. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Gianesses; sister, Janie Donato and her husband Allen; her grandkids who called her Nona, Brooklyn and Kennedy; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 1pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. All in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
