Jean Elizabeth Jones,88, of Seaford, Delaware passed away on Monday, April 18,2022 at the Manor House in Seaford. She was born in Trenton, NJ the daughter of the late James and Cora (Wilson) Brearley. She was employed by Home Insurance Company, Dept. Supervisor at N.J. Manufacturers Insurance Company, and was the secretary for her husband’s construction company. She was also a member of the Insurance Women of Mercer County. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Garden Club, where she served as Vice-President for one year. Jean was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, NJ, where she sang in the choir, the Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Delaware, where she served as a Deacon and for many years in other offices. She was also an Honorary Life Member in the Presbyterian Women. She also served as PW Missions Chairman at the New Castle Presbytery. When she moved to Seaford, she attended the Seaford Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed the activities and volunteering at the Manor House in Seaford, as well as making art and playing the piano and other instruments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson E. Jones. She is survived by her son, Leland James Jones of Ewing, NJ, brother, James Brearly, Jr. and wife Grace, brother-in-law, Thomas Jones and sister-in-law, Marilyn Jones. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 13,2022 at 2:00 pm at the Manor House, 1001 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19971. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the Manor House Benevolence Fund. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown, DE.
