MILFORD – Jeannie E. (Heath) Rust passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford.
Jeannie was born in Milford, daughter of the late Charles M. and Roxie A. (Dickerson) Heath.
Jeannie was a lifelong resident of Milford and worked as an administrative professional in the offices at LD Caulk for many years.
Jeannie was a humble and quiet person who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings of any kind, solving all types of puzzles, and being outdoors gardening; especially in her flower garden, as well as travelling with her sister Joyce to attend Blue Grass concerts and visit their brother Charles.
She was a longtime member of Lincoln UM Church and quietly lived out her faith serving others.
In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her first husband, Burk Allerton Jones; her second husband, William “Harvey” Rust; a son, Eugene H. Rust; a granddaughter, Leah Beth Downes; and a sister Barbara Heath Hamilton.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jones Tyndall of Milford; daughter, Cora J. (Rust) Downes and husband David of Orr, Minnesota; and son, Steven Rust and wife Cindy of Milford; daughter in law, Edna Turner of Lincoln (wife of Eugene); eight grandchildren, Laura Tyndall, Kristy Tyndall, Selean Snyder, Christopher Rust, Stephen W. Rust, Ema-Leigh Mashburn, Anastasia M. Patone and Cody M. Downes; ten great grandchildren and two due to be born this spring; two siblings, Charles Heath of Milford and Joyce Heath of Millsboro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, De where a time of visitation will being at 11:00am. Burial will be held privately.
