Joanne M. Coombe, 78
LINCOLN – Joanne M. (DiAntonio) Coombe passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Joanne was born in Philadelphia, PA daughter of the late Peter and Antionette (DiBona) DiAntonio.
Joanne worked most of her life in the customer service and sales industry working at Macy’s in Deptford, NJ, Virginia Metal Crafters and London Fog, both in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She also was a faithful member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford, DE.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her son, Benny Coombe; and a sister, Christine Miladeo.
She is survived by her loving husband, Benjamin F. Coombe, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Rayne and Denny; two grandsons, Caleb Coombe and Stephen Rayne; three nephews, Frank Miladeo, Mark Miladeo and Robert Miladeo; as well as several grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, and her caretaker, Sheila.
A visitation will be held from 9:00am-10:30am on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, De 19963; followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, De 19963. Interment will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, De 19966.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcome to be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 250, Philadelphia, PA 19106, or Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947.
