Ellendale – Joanne Marie Decker, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Joanne was born to the late Harvey and Florentine (Bennett) Nott on June 19, 1948 in Winsted, Connecticut. In her younger years, Joanne was a Girl Scout leader in Warren, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology with High Honors. She was a descendant of William White, who travelled to America on the Mayflower. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. After moving to Delaware from Warren, Connecticut, she joined Ellendale United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer, and she loved to read with a particular interest in history. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ivan “Everett” Nott. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William “Bill” J. Decker; three children, June Covill, Mark Duhan, and Laurina Decker; three step-daughters, Mayanne Pietzga, Debbie Bushnell and Linda Peck; and three siblings, Harvey Nott, Gwen Alderman, and Noreen Bebault. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00am at Ellendale United Methodist Church, 603 Main St, Ellendale, DE 1994. Interment is private.
